A caring society ensures good animal welfare standards. It promotes responsible animal care and use, and helps ensure animal welfare standards meet public expectations.
Biosecurity Queensland administers the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 (the ACPA) as part of its Animal Welfare project. While protecting animals, the ACPA has strict accountability mechanisms to safeguard the rights of individuals, and ensure investigations are undertaken in a fair and objective manner.
