Applications for registration are decided within 28 days of receiving all the necessary information. An application may be:
- approved and the person registered
- approved and the person registered subject to Registration Conditions
- not approved pending the provision of further documents or information
- refused on the basis that the Chief Executive of the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation is not satisfied that the applicant, or any animal ethics committee nominated by the applicant, will comply with the scientific use code.
Upon approval, a Certificate of Registration is issued by Biosecurity Queensland - Animal Welfare and Ethics. Registration is current for three years from the date on the certificate, and is not transferable.
A person may request replacement of a lost or damaged Certificate of Registration for a prescribed fee.
