Nutrition for lactating dairy cows
The information in this section is a product of Nutrition plus (Nutrition plu$), a dairy extension project co-funded by the department and Dairy Australia. The project aims to improve the financial performance of dairy farmers in northern Australia through the adoption of better nutritional management practices.
The project is based on the 'key nutritional principles' (feeding the rumen microbes, rumen health, feed intake and diet quality) of dairy management and provides training through basic and advanced nutrition courses for farmers, dairy advisors and private consultants.
