Disaster assistance forms and guidelines

Use the following forms and guidelines to apply for natural disaster assistance.

Individual Disaster Stricken Property declaration application form

Where a primary producer is not in an area activated for DRFA assistance but has suffered significant damage from a natural disaster they are able to apply for an Individual Disaster Stricken Property (IDSP) declaration which gives access to freight subsidies up to $5 000 from DAF, and Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) Disaster Assistance loans of up to $250,000 available at a concessional interest rate.

To obtain an IDSP declaration, please complete the application form. You can contact our customer service centre to arrange an IDSP inspection by a DAF officer. A department officer can also assist you to complete the Application for an Individual Disaster Stricken Property declaration (PDF, 117.4KB).

Freight subsidy application forms and guidelines

The following forms must be lodged in accordance with the requirements contained in the individual guidelines below.

Transport of fodder

Application form and guidelines for the movement of emergency fodder to a disaster declared property.

Transport of building, fencing, equipment and machinery

Application form and guidelines for the movement of building materials, fencing materials, machinery and equipment to a disaster declared property.

Removal of stock

Application form and guidelines for the removal of livestock from a disaster declared property.

Transport of animals purchased for restocking

Application form and guidelines for the movement of animals purchased for restocking a disaster declared property. (Please note for the North and Far North Queensland flooding event additional restocking freight subsidy assistance called the flood freight subsidy and restocking and agistment has been activated which allows producers to access a higher amount of freight subsidy assistance. Flood freight subsidy restocking and agistment

The flood freight subsidy restock and agistment is available to primary producers to accelerate restocking of the area impacted by the North and Far North Trough in January and February 2019, and increase opportunities for short-term income.
