Branding and earmarking livestock in Queensland

Due to significant numbers of applications being received, fully completed applications will be processed within 50 working days of being received by Licensing Transaction Unit. Fully completed applications will be processed in the order received.

Incomplete applications will be returned for completion and will need to be resubmitted.

Brands and earmarks are used to prove ownership of livestock. They are only compulsory for cattle and pigs when they are being sold. However they are recommended to avoid ownership disputes over stray animals.
