Apply for a permit—biosecurity instrument

You will need to apply for a biosecurity instrument permit if you need to move something and a Movement Control Order or the Biosecurity Regulation 2016 currently does not allow the movement because it may create a biosecurity risk.

* Electric ant carriers include:

  • potted plants, plant cuttings, fruit
  • garden waste, mulch and composted materials
  • a thing that has come into contact with the ground (e.g. bee hives, pot plants, garden furniture)
  • soil and turf
  • baled hay or straw
  • animal manures
  • material that is a product or by-product of mining or quarrying.
