Recent wet weather has led to an increase in fire ant reports and delays in treatment. We will respond to all reports, and if necessary, treat fire ants as soon as we can. Priority is given to reports of fire ants in areas of greatest public risk.

To assist with identification, please include a clear, close-up image of the ants and/or their nest.

Biosecurity Queensland is collecting your personal information for the purpose of eradicating fire ants and electric ants, category 1 restricted matter under the Biosecurity Act 2014. This information will only be accessed by authorised employees within the department and will not be disclosed to any other parties unless authorised or required by law.

You will soon receive an email receipt of your report and your case number (in red above).

Please quote the number if you need to contact us about your report. We aim to respond to reports, and if necessary treat all ants within 12 business days.

Each year we receive hundreds of reports from members of the public which assists in the fight against invasive ants.
