Prevention and control program for invasive biosecurity matter
A prevention and control program for invasive biosecurity matter has been authorised for 2021/22 under the Biosecurity Act 2014.
Biosecurity matter
The biosecurity program relates to invasive biosecurity matter. The program applies to Invasive Biosecurity Matter that is prohibited matter listed in Table A or restricted matter listed in Table B in each of the local government areas and regions listed in Table A or Table B of the authorisation document.
Purpose and scope
The purpose of the program is:
- to prevent the entry, establishment or spread of biosecurity matter listed in Column A of Table A and Table B of the Authorisation Document in the parts of Queensland listed in Column B of Table A and Table B of the Authorisation Document where the biosecurity matter poses a significant biosecurity risk and
- to manage, reduce or eradicate the biosecurity matter listed in Column A of Table A and Table B of the Authorisation Document in parts of Queensland listed in Column C of Table A and Table B of the Authorisation Document where the biosecurity matter could pose a significant biosecurity risk.
Authorised officers may enter land to take action to destroy the invasive biosecurity matter to which the program relates.
Commencement and duration
The program starts on 5 July 2021 and will continue until 30 June 2022.
