Disaster-declared areas

North and North West Queensland flooding and Severe Tropical Cyclone Nora - February and March 2018

Due to the rainfall and flooding associated with the north and north west rainfalls and Severe Tropical Cyclone Nora, the following areas have been declared disaster areas and activated under the joint Queensland and Australian Governments' Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) for Category B:

Severe Tropical Cyclone Nora and associated flooding 24 to 29 March 2018

  • Carpentaria
  • Cassowary Coast
  • Croydon
  • Douglas
  • Etheridge
  • Hinchinbrook

North and North West Queensland low and associated rainfall and flooding 24 February to 8 March 2018

  • Cloncurry Shire Council
  • McKinlay Shire Council

North Queensland flooding 6 to 10 March 2018

  • Hinchinbrook Shire Council
  • Cassowary Coast Regional Council

Through this arrangement, producers have access to NDRRA Category B financial assistance, such as freight subsidies and concessional loans.

Primary producers who have suffered major damage as a result of these recent significant rainfall and flood events outside the above declared areas may apply for an Individual Disaster Stricken Property (IDSP) declaration. An IDSP provides access to Queensland Government assistance similar to the Category B NDRRA of freight subsidies and concessional loans.

Central Coast Queensland Severe Weather - October 2017

Flood-affected primary producers in parts of the North Burnett Region and Bundaberg Regional Council can apply for Category C NDRRA assistance.

Category C NDRRA activation allows producers access to grants of up to $25,000.

Flood-affected primary producers in Gladstone, Bundaberg and North Burnett Regional Councils can apply for Category B NDRRA assistance.

Through this arrangement, producers have access to financial assistance, such as freight subsidies and concessional loans.

Primary producers who have suffered major damage as a result of the recent significant rainfall and flood event may apply for an Individual Disaster Stricken Property (IDSP) declaration. This declaration provides access to Category B NDRRA assistance of freight subsidies and concessional loans.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie - March 2017

The following areas have been declared disaster areas for Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie and are activated under Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) Category B:

  • Whitsunday Regional Council
  • Central Highlands Regional Council
  • Gladstone City Council
  • Gold Coast City Council
  • Isaac Regional Council
  • Livingstone Shire Council
  • Logan City Council
  • Lockyer Valley Regional Council
  • Scenic Rim Regional Council
  • Rockhampton Regional Council
  • Banana Regional Council
  • North Burnett Regional Council.

Through this arrangement, producers can access financial assistance, such as freight subsidies and concessional loans. Applications for Category B assistance close 30 June 2019.

Applications for Category C assistance closed 12 January 2018. The following areas were declared disaster areas activated under Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) Category C.

Properties outside declared areas

Primary producers who have suffered significant damage as a result of STC Debbie, but are not in a disaster-declared area, may apply for an Individual Disaster Stricken Property (IDSP) declaration. This declaration provides access to Category B NDRRA assistance of freight subsidies and concessional loans.
