Disaster-declared areas

Central Queensland fires November 2018

Due to the unprecedented fire conditions, the following areas have been declared disaster areas and activated under the joint Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) for Category B:

  • Gladstone Regional Council
  • Rockhampton Regional Council
  • Mackay Regional Council

Through this arrangement, producers have access to DRFA Category B financial assistance, such as freight subsidies and concessional loans.

If you are unsure if you are in an activated area please contact the department on 13 25 23 or QRIDA on 1800 623 946 or visit the QRIDA website.

Primary producers who have suffered major damage as a result of these fire events outside the above declared areas may apply for an Individual Disaster Stricken Property (IDSP) declaration. An IDSP provides access to Queensland Government assistance similar to the Category B NDRRA of freight subsidies and concessional loans.
