Annual fishery report 2011-12

The Coral Reef Fin Fish Fishery is a line-only fishery that targets a range of bottom-dwelling reef fish. It consists of a commercial fishery focusing primarily on live coral trout, and an iconic recreational and charter fishery. The fishery operates predominantly in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, with operators generally using smaller tender boats (dories) independently from a mother vessel. A comprehensive suite of management arrangements, including an individual transferable quota system, is in place for the commercial fishery to ensure its sustainability into the future.

This report covers the financial year from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012.
