Looking after protected species in Queensland
Fisheries Queensland plays a significant role in educating fishers about how they can minimise their impact on protected species.
Fisheries Queensland has developed a comprehensive education package, 'Looking after protected species in Queensland', which includes material for both recreational and commercial fishers.
Resources
Resources include a series of education materials, including:

Queensland is the only state that requires commercial fishers to undertake such a course, demonstrating the commitment by industry and government to minimise impacts on protected species.
