Cromileptes altivelis

  • pale grey and black spots all over the body and fins
  • small head and humped back
  • similar to barramundi in shape
  • dark body blotches may appear when fish is startled or stressed

  • highly regarded food fish
  • most have small scales
  • hard to see lateral lines and usually rounded to emarginate tail fins
