  • similar to the comet grouper but bands are pale with a dark edge
  • indistinct oblique lines of dots between the bands

  • hard to see lateral lines and usually rounded to emarginate tail fins

  • in addition, there is a total possession limit of 20 for all Coral Reef Fin Fish
