Pest mapping

Knowing the location of invasive plants and animals is integral to effective pest management. Spatial data and analysis are valuable tools for recording pest information and for strategic planning for more effective pest management.

Biosecurity Queensland maintains grid based datasets for around 100 pest species. These datasets are reviewed every 3 or 4 years and was last updated in 2018.  The datasets are used to produce hard-copy maps as well as the online weed map.
