Natural disaster assistance and resources

If you have been impacted by a natural disaster event we can help with technical and financial information to assist in your recovery and in building your future resilience.

The Queensland Government operates two programs of natural disaster assistance; the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) and the State Disaster Relief Arrangements (SDRA).

The NDRRA is a joint Commonwealth/State program that provides grant and loan assistance to disaster-affected community members, small businesses, non-profit organisations, primary producers and local and state governments. Activation of NDRRA only occurs when expenditure estimates on relief measures exceeds the eligibility threshold as set by the Commonwealth Government.

The SDRA is a wholly state-funded program that is activated for all hazards and provides assistance where personal hardship and distress follows the impact of a disaster event.
