If you haven’t yet heard of the Central Queensland Smart Cropping Centre (CQSCC) then you have been out in the field for too long! Whilst the centre is rather new, it is here to make a big impact and it has kicked off with a bang.

The CQSCC is here to listen, learn, engage, teach, demonstrate, connect, collaborate, inspire and most importantly to help. To help the Central Queensland agriculture industry. An industry that is a significant contributor to Queensland’s $19 billion agricultural industry. An industry that is facing challenges of climate change, job shortages and growing world food needs.

The CQSCC, in partnership with Central Highlands and Development Corporation, i4Connect and AusIndustry, and Cotton Research Development Corporation, has held a Co-Design Day that was attended by some of industry’s most knowledgeable minds. A mix of producers, AgTech businesses, researchers, supply chain businesses and government, all brought together to identify gaps, problems and challenges, and brainstorm ideas, solutions and opportunities.

The workshop has captured the knowledge within the industry and the data will be used to develop a future plan for the CQSCC. A plan that has been design by industry, for industry.

It’s time to engage, work together, and use what we know to deliver efficient and effective solutions – daf.qld.gov.au/smartfarms.
