Sheep producers invited to forum and dinner

News release | 07-Mar-2018

A forum and dinner at Longreach in March will ask the question: are we riding on the sheep’s back again?

Longreach based DAF Livestock Extension Officer Kiri Broad said the gathering would be an opportunity to hear about the current state of the sheep and wool markets, how did they get where they are, the future of the industry and how to best position yourself to take advantage of market conditions.

“We’ll be hearing from agriculture industry expert Robert Herrmann,  Managing Director of independent, specialist agricultural advisory service Ag Concepts Advisory Pty Ltd,” she said.

“Over dinner, Robert and local speakers, John Hawkes and Ann Ballinger, will share their stories of resilience – what does it mean, how to develop it and how to put it to use when the time comes.”

Ms Broad said local producers are encouraged to attend the event at Qantas Founders Museum at Longreach on Friday 16 March.

“Registration opens at 1.15pm for the forum which commences at 2.00pm with the dinner commencing at 5.30pm,” she said.

“Tickets to the forum and dinner are available both separately or as a package and range from just $15 for the forum only to $35 for the forum and dinner.

“Tickets can be bought online at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/forum-dinner-are-we-riding-on-the-sheeps-back-again-tickets-42856239165 .”
