Become a fire ant fighter

Be part of the team that is stopping fire ants from taking hold in Australia. Just one missed nest can multiply and spread across a community jeopardising eradication efforts. Fire ants pose the most risk when transported by people and can easily hitchhike in materials such as soil, hay, mulch, manure, quarry products and potted plants.

Participating in fire ant eradication is easy. By working together we can rid Australia of this invasive pest. Penalties can apply if you do not meet your legal obligations to prevent the spread of fire ants.

Embark on your quest to level-up your skills to seek and destroy fire ants.

Penalties for non-compliance

Breaches of these controls risk spreading fire ants across South East Queensland and further, and can potentially impact the community, economy, environment, you and your business.

Our inspectors conduct random compliance checks to ensure businesses and individuals are complying with the steps outlined in the Biosecurity Regulation 2016.

If you are unsure of your legal obligations or have any questions, contact our fire ant compliance team on 13 25 23.
