Moving plants, plant products or related risk items (like soil and machinery) from one area to another can introduce or spread pests and diseases. This can disrupt the whole production and marketing cycle, and heavily affect producers and the regional communities they depend on.
The Biosecurity Act 2014 established movement restrictions on these risk materials. Before moving risk items, you have to obtain a biosecurity certificate.
Use the Queensland Biosecurity Manual (PDF, 137MB) to find out how risk materials must be treated, inspected, sourced or packed to obtain a biosecurity certificate. Make sure you comply with the relevant movement restrictions.
If you supply produce to interstate markets, check with interstate authorities before sending.
