What's special
Aplins Weir is stocked by the Townsville Barramundi Stocking Society Inc. The weir is stocked with barramundi. The weir joined the SIPS scheme in 2016 but was previously stocked from other funding sources.
Location
Aplins Weir is located on the Ross River at Townsville. It is downstream of both Gleeson Weir and Black Weir. The weir is suitable for paddlecraft and small powered vessels. Hire boats and kayaks are available in Townsville. Accommodation is available in Townsville. There are toilets and a playground in the park adjacent to the weir pool. Townsville has plenty of other recreational activities to enjoy.
