Baroon Pocket Dam (Lake Baroon) is stocked by the Ewen Maddock Fish Mangament Inc. The dam is stocked with Ausralian bass and Mary River cod. In 2017/18 2,500 Mary River cod and 12,211 Australian bass were stocked from SIPS permit sales. The dam joined the SIPS scheme in 2016 but was previously stocked from other funding sources. Mary River cod are a no take species from the dam.
Location
Baroon Pocket Dam is located at Montville on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. There is a range of accommodation options available at Montville. The dam has facailities including toilets, barbeques and a playground. There are several hiking trails and short walks near Baroon Pocket Dam including the Martin Williams Walk and Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk. There are plenty of other activities to do in Montville including the cheese factory, wineries, museum and much more.
