What's special
Cecil Plains Weir is stocked by the Millmerran & Pittsworth Fish Stocking Association Inc. The weir is stocked with golden perch, Murray cod and silver perch. In 2017/18 4,045 golden perch and 166 Murray cod were stocked from SIPS permit sales. The weir joined SIPS in 2016 but has previously been stocked from other funding sources.
Location
Cecil Plains Weir is located on the Condamine River just to the east of Cecil Plains. The weir is suitable for small vessels and paddlecraft. Accommodation is available at the free camping area located on the west side of the river off the Toowoomba Cecil Plains Road. The free camp has a maximum stay of 3 nights. The facilities at the weir include toilets, picnic tables and a shelter. Dogs are allowed at the free camp, but must be kept on lead at all times.
