What's special

Bjelke Petersen Dam is stocked by the Bjelke Petersen Dam Fish Management Committee. The dam is stocked with Australian bass, golden perch, silver perch and saratoga. In 2017/18, 56,000 Australian bass, 109,090 golden perch and 9,090 silver perch were stocked from SIPS permit sales. A total of 907,594 Australian bass, 1,661,397 golden perch and 156,589 silver perch have been stocked in Bjelke Petersen Dam from SIPS.

Location

Gordonbrook Dam is located 21 km north of Kingaroy in the South Burnett Region. Fishing is restricted to shore fishing. There is no camping on site, but many accomodation options are available in Kingaroy. Facilities at the dam include picnic tables and toilets (composting), but no barbeques or playground facilities. Please check for closures on the alert link before travelling to this dam as it is sometimes closed due to health risks from blue-green algae.
