What's special
Moogerah Dam is stocked by the Maroon-Moogerah Fish Management Association. The dam is stocked with Australian bass, golden perch, Mary River cod and silver perch. In 2017/18, 55,476 Australian bass and 46,227 golden perch were stocked from SIPS permit sales. A total of 650,423 Australian bass, 503,836 golden perch, 231,396 silver perch and 850 Mary River cod have been stocked in Moogerah Dam from SIPS.
Location
Moogerah Dam is located amongst the spectacular scenery of the Scenic Rim, an hours drive south west of Brisbane. The dam is a popular location for fishing and watersports. There are no restrictions on the vessel types that can be used. Boats and kayaks are available for hire at Lake Moogerah Caravan Park. Accommodation is available at the Lake Moogerah Caravan Park and Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat. The facilities at the dam include toilets, hot showers, baby baths, laundry, camp fire pits, camp kitchen, electric barbeques, wireless internet and a kiosk with ice, bait, drinks, ice creams and basic groceries. There is a range of other activities to do in the area including bush walking, mountain biking, rock climbing and wine tasting.
