What's special

Lake Dyer (Bill Gunn Dam) is stocked by the Lockyer Valley Fish Restocking Association Inc. The lake is stocked with Australian bass, golden perch, Mary River cod and silver perch. In 2017/18, 4,000 Australian bass, 13,727 golden perch and 4,000 silver perch were stocked from SIPS permit sales. A total of 81,915 Australian bass, 200 Mary River cod, 97,227 golden perch and 50,300 silver perch have been stocked in Lake Dyer from SIPS.

Location

Lake Dyer is located just to the west of Laidley. There are no vessel restrictions on the lake. Fishing is permitted from the shoreline of the recreation area and on the lake from vessels. Accommodation is available at the Lake Dyer Caravan and Camping Ground. The facilities at the lake include toilets, barbeques, picnic tables, showers and a playground. Swimming is permitted in the lake with the designated swimming areas. There are trails around the dam suitable for walking, running and mountain biking.
