What's special
Eungella Dam is stocked by the Mackay Area Fish Stocking Association Inc. The dam is stocked with barramundi and sooty grunter. In 2017/18, 4,000 barramundi were stocked from SIPS permit sales. A total of 156,760 barramundi and 267,500 sooty grunter have been stocked in Eungella Dam from SIPS.
Location
Eungella Dam is located about 80km west of Mackay. There are no restrictions on the vessel types at Eungela Dam. Fishing and watersports are popular on Eungella Dam. Accommodation is avialable at the onsite camp ground run by Sunwater or nearby at the Eungella National Park. The facilities at the dam include toilets, wood-fired barbeques and picnic tables. There are trails suitable for walking, hiking and mountain biking in the Eungella National Park.
