What's special
Bonshaw Weir is stocked by the Texas Fishing Club. The weir is stocked with golden perch and Murray cod. In 2017/18 13,394 golden perch were stocked from SIPS permit sales. The weir joined SIPS in 2016 but has previously been stocked from other funding. Murray cod are a common catch in Bonshaw Weir with some over 110cm being caught at the top of the weir pool.
Location
Bonshaw Weir is on the Dumaresq River and located 10km north of Bonshaw. There is a free camp area at the weir on the New South Wales side of the river. There is no designated boat ramp at Bonshaw Weir. It is suitable for kayaks or small vessels.
